Personal Details

I have been employed for 15 years in the NHS and 24 years in the voluntary sector, I am now an independant trainer due to redundancy. It is scary and exciting at the same time, with my vast knowledge and experience of working in mental health services, delivering and upskilling myself in mental health and wellbeing, I am sure I can make this work to benefit indivdiuals and employers who are looking for a better understanding in mental health and increase their emotional literacy.

I am an enthusiastic, self-motivated and trustful individual who always strives to achieve a very high standard in whatever is undertaken. I Possess a wide range of Project Management skills, Senior management skills, cultivated in the Mental Health, Neurodiversity and complex support areas:

• I have effective prioritising and organisational skills, coupled with a determination to complete a job to a satisfactory outcome
• I enjoy developing and creating a clear vision for projects, especially where these projects are customer driven.
• I enjoy see indivdiuals being empowered after experiencing the training I have delivered whether the course are short or long term
• I have excellent interpersonal skills involving tact, diplomacy, with an understanding and non-judgemental attitude
• I have impactful and professional communication skills in both verbal and written.


Work Experience

• Delivered MHFA training since 2009, Youth MHFA training since 2011, Higher Education MHFA Training since 2017, MHFA Refresher training since 2019
• Delivered training in Managing Mental Health in the workplace since 2010 using the line managers resource guide (Initially SHIFT)
• Deliver and develop a range of Mental Health and resilience courses/programmes. Facilitate, evaluate and maintain progress of each project and programme, reported to funders/commissioners/contractors at interim periods and the final overall report.
• Developed two initiatives (Mental Health First Aid Training and MINDFUL EMPLOYER) by engaging with employers across all sectors within the East of England through networking, seminars, presentations to organisations and information giving through varying communication systems.
• Developed and co-ordinated a MHFA instructor network that provides peer support and personal development in their delivery of MHFA. Organised and trained instructors on each cohort throughout the region, plus becoming their mentor throughout the training process. (2008 to 2013)
• Developed a Mindful Employer network fin Essex hosted by employers for employers who signed the charter, to enable employers to share good practice and issues that they face when ensuring a healthy minded workforce. (2009)
• Provided up to date resources, advice and information around mental health and employment within the statement of priorities for the East of England (2008 to 2009)
• Networked and continue to network with employers/professionals/education from across all sectors in disseminating information and resources that will support their employee’s mental wellbeing plus upskill Managers/Supervisors to manage mental health in the workplace.
• Managed and assessed student nurses/social workers on placement to meet their proficiencies within each module/unit of qualification whilst attending a variety of activities and training.
• Developed, managed and supported the implementation of a range of self-help activities for adults and young people with SEND and additional needs including mental health conditions
• Managed the young people (SEND) team, the wellbeing team and as one of the three Leads in supporting the CEO, the decision making within the organisation, providing reports to the Trustees and attending their meetings
• Present presentations on Mental Health & Wellbeing at conferences, hold a marketing stand and network at events across the Essex county and deliver short wellbeing workshops at conferences too
• Marketing through using social media, developed flyers, posters using Publisher and Canva, as well as other booklets of information plus sign posting attendees of courses and delegates at events
• Developed partnership working over the last 15 years by pulling funding and other resources together including CVS and community organisations , local Authorities as well as the private sector organisations.
• Researched evidence and written Bids / tenders to meet the vision of the organisation.
• Provide written monitoring reports internally and externally. Gather feedback and case studies to demonstrate progression in each funding stream of training.
